ALBANY -- Sarah H. Veazey, 81, of Albany, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, GA.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11 AM at the graveside at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. William D. "Biff" Coker and the Rev. Dr. Paul Luthman will officiate.
Mrs. Veazey was born in Chambers County, AL, and moved to Albany in 1957 from Tifton, GA. She was the daughter of the late George Staley Hunt and the late Flora Cotney Hunt. Mrs. Veazey was a graduate of Piedmont College in 1954. She was a teacher in the Dougherty County School System, mainly at Magnolia Elementary School. Mrs. Veazey was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Veazey.
Mrs. Veazey is survived by her two daughters: Sharon Walker, Leesburg, Cathy Darby and her husband Alton, Leesburg; 6 grandchildren: Selena Walker, Leesburg, Lindsey Cotton, Americus, Christa Cotton, New Orleans, LA, Charles Ellis Darby, Leesburg, Kailey Walker, Leesburg; 2 great-grandchildren: Daisy Duncan, Lilly Duncan, both of Leesburg.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
