ALBANY, Ga. — Michael Brown, a 27-year-old man wanted for contempt of court, drove a 2005 Chevrolet Impala south on South Mock Road and lost control of the speeding car Monday night, according to an Albany Police Department report.

The Impala went across lanes of traffic, hit an embankment and a tree, flipped a few times and landed on its roof, the report said. Brown got out of the car and tried to run away, it added.

A Dougherty County Police Department officer caught Brown, who was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, the report said. Brown ran away again and was not admitted to the hospital.

Brown is now wanted on two warrants for drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, reckless driving and other traffic violations as well as a contempt of court warrant, Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said.
