ALBANY, Ga. — A fire before 11:25 a.m. Saturday started in a dishwasher in apartment 510 at the Village Apartments, 2507 Nottingham Way and caused about $20,000 in damage to the kitchen, said Albany Fire Department Capt. John Beamon.
The residents were just moving in, Beamon said. There was no one in the apartment at the time the fire broke out, he added. Firefighters used 300 gallons of water on the kitchen-contained fire.
