ALBANY -- Funeral service for the late Alberta Terrell, 63, of 1102 University Street here in Albany, Georgia who departed this life on November 19, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM from Friendship Baptist Church, 400 Pine Avenue, Albany, Georgia with Pastor, Rev H.B. Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia.
The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. The family of Mrs. Alberta Terrell will receive friends and relatives at 1102 University Street here in Albany, Georgia.
The lovely Mrs. Alberta Terrell was born April 29, 1949 in Calhoun, GA to late Mr. Alvin and Louisa Butler. She departed this life on November 19, 2012. Mrs. Terrell was a devoted member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she confessed Christ at an early age. A lifelong member of the "Friendship Family", she served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board.
Alberta was united in Holy Matrimony to Ollie Terrell on April 28, 1971. To this union, two children were born. Her family was her proud and joy. She devoted her time to M& M Mars, Dougherty County School System crossing guard, and retired from Friendship Childcare Learning Center in April 2012.
Mrs. Terrell touched the lives of all who knew her. She possessed an amazing gift for making everyone "uniquely" special. For many years, she was a dedicated member of the Lee County Elite Club. She possessed a heart of gold. A true inspiration that will be forever cherished.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Ollie Terrell, Sr. of Albany, GA; her two children, Monica Lashan Terrell and Ollie Terrell, Jr. of Albany, GA; her two sisters, preceded in her death, Ella Martin of Albany, GA and sister Mary Wiley of Atlanta, GA; her two brothers, Willie A. Butler (Jackie) of Atlanta, GA and Bennie C. Butler (Mildred) of Morgan, GA; a devoted cousin, Ruth Shannon of Albany, GA; her uncle, Benjamin Butler of Orlando, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
