ALBANY, Ga. — A 17-year-old boy avoided injury when an arsonist hurled a Molotov cocktail through his bedroom window before 12:16 a.m. Tuesday, an Albany Police Department report said.
Three other people were inside the two-bedroom apartment A at 408 Poplar St. when the bottle hit the boy's window, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman said. No one was injured, she added.
"We are investigating this arson with the Albany Fire Department," Banks said. "The Gang Unit will be participating to find out if it was gang-related."
The streets around the corner of Poplar Street and Gillespie Avenue often turn up in reports as gang infested. Police investigated a no-injuries shooting in August in the neighborhood.

According to a Dougherty County Court Docket search, he remains out on bail. A man fired at least 10 rounds in the melee during the altercation. No injuries resulted.
