APD responds to entering autos, assaults

ALBANY — Among the incidents keeping the Albany Police Department occupied over the weekend were the apprehension of an entering-auto suspect as well as a stabbing on Clark Avenue, police reports show.

The entering autos — six counts total — took place at 426 Cordele Road, the site of Ozone Lounge and Bar, from 9 p.m. to 11:50 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers responded to the location in reference to an entering-auto suspect in custody. Upon arrival, officers made contact with several patrons who stated that there were four people together but that they found only one person inside the vehicle.

While on the scene, police discovered that a total of six vehicles had been entered, according to an APD spokeswoman.

The items taken included a laptop computer, digital camera, wallet, car keys, loose change, a cellphone and a CD player face. All the vehicle’s doors were reportedly unlocked.

Terrance Walker, 17, was arrested in connection with the break-ins, police said.

Entering-auto incidents were also reported at several other locations during the weekend, including Gary Avenue and Sixth Avenue, reports show.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the APD responded to an aggravated assault at 2100 Clark Ave., Lot B-26, reports indicate.

The victim, identified as Donald Neal, 35, reported that he and a female got into an argument in the front yard area of the lot, and that she attacked him.

He said she pulled an unknown object out of her purse and stabbed him, cutting his left forearm, police said.

The female fled the scene prior to the responding officers’ arrival.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Phoebe North. Responding officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate the female, police said.

No arrests had been reported in connection with the assault as of Monday evening.

I can't understand people being so stupid as leaving their laptop computers, cameras, wallet, car keys in an unlocked car, particularly in a parking lot at night at a lounge.

Then again, I can understand......they are stupid.
