ALBANY, Ga. -- Warrants were sworn out for 38-year-old Calvin Jermaine Brown on a charge of false imprisonment, according to a report by the Albany Police Department.

The police Family Protection Unit said it would like the community's help in locating Brown. He was described as 6 feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds.

The report added that at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, a 52-year-old woman reported that her live-in boyfriend held her against her will in her home for about 90 minutes.

The report states, "There was evidence of her being restrained." No details on the restraints, whether rope, wire or any other material, were available. Brown used no weapon to coerce the woman but "she suffered superficial injuries," possibly from the restraints or from Brown.

"The victim in this case appeared to be taking measure to get out of an abusive relationship," APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said. "It is fortunate that she survived and escaped. Now, we need the public's assistance with getting the suspect in custody so we can further protect the victim from a repeat situation."

Anyone with additional information on Brown or his location is asked to call investigations at (229) 431-3288 or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477). The Spanish-speaking APD-COP Tip Line is (229) 434-2677.

Crime Stoppers is an anonymous tipline. People with information could become eligible for cash rewards.
