ALBANY — The 2012 Professional Indoor Football League Champion Albany Panthers announced Tuesday that the team will be holding an open tryout for all positions at the practice field behind Westside High School located at 2851 Heath Road in Macon on Nov. 10.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m., followed by practice at noon. The fee to try out is $40 in advance or $50 the day of the tryout.
Open roster spots for the upcoming season are available, and players have been signed at these tryouts. Two contracts were offered at the fall tryout last season.
“I have said all along that in order for the Panthers to be successful, the team needs to have a solid representation from all areas. The state of Georgia is a gold mine when it comes to talented football players,” Albany Panthers GM Will Carter said. “It is important to turn over every stone to try and find those hidden gems.”
Players will be evaluated in the following:
-- 40-yard dash
-- 20-yard shuttle
-- Broad jump
-- Position drills
-- One-on-ones
