ALBANY, Ga. -- A crowd is expected to gather at the Albany Museum of Art Tuesday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. to take part in the weeklong musical festivities leading up to the three-day Georgia Throwdown at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
Threeforty Creative Group, MillerCoors and the Albany Museum of Art will sponsor Beer and Banjos, featuring music from the Evergreen Family Band and MillerCoors selected beverages.
Festival organizer Sam Shugart approached the museum about the event this summer, as he planned to incorporate local nonprofits and organizations into the music festival.
"We are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Sam Shugart and 340 as they work to highlight the local arts in the community during this exciting week of music in Southwest Georgia," museum interim Executive Director Karen Kemp said.
Tickets, which are priced at $10 each, includes an open beer bar, boiled peanuts and bluegrass music. All proceeds will go toward maintaining free admission at the museum for all visitors, including an upcoming Family Day on Oct. 20.
"At 340 Creative Group, we are so proud to be a part of this community and work with great groups such as the Albany Museum of Art," group President Justin Andrews said. "We encourage the entire city to come and support the week of music."
