Theatre Albany sets auditions for holiday production

ALBANY, Ga. -- Artistic Director Mark Costello has announced that Theatre Albany will conduct auditions for its holiday production of "The Little Town of Christmas" Oct. 14. Auditions will be conducted at 2 p.m. for children ages 7 to 12, and at 3 p.m. for adults and teenagers. Auditions will be held at the theatre, located at 514 Pine Ave.

"The Little Town of Christmas" is a holiday revue of 12 yuletide sketches just perfect for an evening's entertainment this Christmas. Everyone in the little town of Christmas is friendly and funny. Included are old favorite stories such as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" and "A Christmas Carol," updated and aimed right for the funny bone, of course.

Throw in a wandering group of carolers who cough and sneeze on cue, three kids trying their best to be wise men in the Christmas play, and a riotous lecture on Christmas etiquette, and you're in for an evening of holiday laughter and warmth.

Roles are available for seven-10 men, six-eight women and six children. Auditions are open to the community and will consist of cold readings from the script. Production dates are set for Dec. 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16. For more information, contact the theater at (229) 439-7193.
