ALBANY, Ga.: Thousands of children from around the region flocked to the civic center Wednesday to learn about fire safety.
The AFD's 18th Annual Fire Safety Program is one of the longest-running and best-attended fire safety programs in the state, Chief James Carswell says.
More than 4,000 children were rsvp'd for the event from at least eight different southwest Georgia counties.
Firefighters dressed as clowns, superheros and villains to push the importance of fire escape planning, avoiding matches and lighters, and what to do if you catch fire.
