Being one of the oldest residents of Albany having been here 72 years, I feel the need to keep the old post office open. That's the one thing to remind us people of the early '50s, '60s, '70s of Albany as it was.
I sincerely hope for a change and to keep it open. It could cost lots of money to close shop. So many Albanians meet, hellow, how are you, stop, shake hands ...
I remember well the 12th day of October, 1940. My late husband and I and two children stopped at the post office that day. Since 1940, we added two other children to the family.

Nadine Mathis, we agree on something, I would really hate to see the post office go. I can't believe this the one they chose to close in Albany. I bet most of the post office boxes are rented out. Local businesses are really gonna miss it and have to spend lots of time and money in gas to travel daily to one of the other post offices.
