ALBANY — A smash-and-grab burglary reported early Monday and a shooting on Holloway Avenue Sunday are among the cases that remain active for the Albany Police Department, reports indicate.
The business known as Simply Fashion, located at 1030 W. Gordon Ave., was broken into sometime after 6 p.m. Sunday, reports show.
The APD responded to the scene just after midnight on Monday, at which time officers saw that the establishment had been entered through a hole that had been broken into the rear wall.
Sunglasses and other miscellaneous items were taken.
The case has been labeled a burglary in the second degree, police officials say.
No information was available on a suspect Monday evening. The case remains active.
The burglary followed an aggravated assault that took place on the 800 block of Holloway Avenue at around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, reports show.
The victims, identified as Dominique Henderson, 20, and Brenton Hailstock, 25, told police they were riding their bicycles when a gray vehicle pulled up and started shooting at them.
Henderson was struck in the right foot.
He was treated by emergency medical personnel and transported to a hospital for further treatment, police say.
The case remains active. No suspect information was available Monday evening.
