ALBANY -- Veterans, their families and professional friends in SW GA and clinics served by Sterling Medical Corporation of Cincinnati celebrate the life and mourn the death of Bruce I. Butler, LCSW, who served the community well as Social Worker at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Albany, GA.

A native of historic Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, the youngest of two sons, he was raised and educated at St. Matthew's School and Church and graduated from Plymouth-White Marsh High School, Conshohocken, PA. He worked in the fashion industry in Philadelphia while training as a aesthestician, then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He furthered his studies to earn a BA, MA, and Ph.D., and became certified as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. After teaching, private practice, and clinical work at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Hollywood, FL., he moved in 2009 to Albany, GA, to fill a similar position at the clinic attached to the VA Medical Center in Dublin.

Mr. Butler was born on Valentine's Day, 1949, and passed away 9/22/2012. The cremains were interred at the family cemetery in Pennsylvania. He will be memorialized by the veterans with whom he worked at a luncheon Saturday, October 6, 2012, in Albany.

He is survived by his brother Larry and his children and grand-children in PA, relatives in Texas and close friends in Georgian and Florida and throughout the United States.
