Albany Herald
The Albanyherald.com has gone blue and gold to support Albany State University during its homecoming festivities this week.
ALBANY, Ga. — If you visit Albanyherald.com this week, you’ll notice that things may look a little bit different.
To show support for Albany State during its homecoming activities, albanyherald.com and The Albany Herald’s Facebook account have changed their design.
Online readers will now see a blue banner across the top of our website with the “Albany” part of our Albany Herald logo emblazoned in gold rather than its typical cyan color.
On Facebook, we’ve changed our timeline to include a special message to all of ASU’s returning graduates.
Historically, ASU’s week of homecoming events is one of Albany’s biggest economic engines, pouring millions of dollars into the local economy as alumni from across the country return to the Good Life City to reconnect with former classmates.

Its funny how the Albany Herald has nothing positive to say about ASU for 358 days.......but OHHHHH when Homecoming comes around they LOVE ASU!!!!! Same thing with many of the bushiness around town...smh...They will be flying blue and gold this week..........

It's all about the money. I'll admit I am not a fan of ASU, but I can say that most of these businesses don't give a crap about ASU. Like you say, they put up the blue and gold and display their signs that say GO ASU, but it is just to attract visitors to come in and spend some moolah. It's not the blue and gold they support, but rather that green stuff.

You are correct and that is why I pray my fellow alums are not fooled by the GO RAMS signs........

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Everybody has jumped on the ASU bandwagon. And while I am not a huge fan of ASU myself, I don't think they will be fooled by all the signs at some of the area businesses, but they have to eat sleep, shop, etc., so they really don't have much of a choice about the busineses they go to if they plan on staying in town for the week. One thing is for sure.. Albany will have a BIG economic boost this week with all the homecoming activities from ASU and its alumni.

Please provide some instances where ASU recieved negative press from the Herald. I am a Fort Valley Alumn but have a relative who attends the school so I read the paper online almost everyday. I haven't seen the negative press that you say ASU recieves. I am a football fanatic and have commented many times on this years team.
