KISSIMMEE, Fla.: A Lake Park Elementary student finished as one of the top archery students in her field at a recent competition in Florida, officials say.
Kate Douglas, a 5th grade student at Lake Park Elementary, placed third out of 49 in the fifth-grade division, Dougherty County School System officials say, 19th out of 244 in the elementary girls division and 69th out of 526 among all the girls entered.
The competition, held October 6 at teh ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, was open to male and female students from elementary and high schools across the United States, Canada, South Africa and Namibia.
