ALBANY, Ga. — According to Albany Police Department reports, a 16-year old girl was taken into custody Wednesday after demanding money from a WG&L meter reader at knife point at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
She is being questioned by detectives. Possible charges include aggravated assault/terroristic threats and acts.
No injuries were reported and nothing was stolen.
The report states the victim 40-year old Dexter Greene, told police that the juvenile approached him while he was reading meters in the 1800 block of Lullwater Drive. He stated that she was initially walking in the area acting suspicious and told him she was lost.
When Greene offered to assist her, she pulled out a knife and demanded money, police said. Greene was able to divert the suspect’s attention toward searching his truck for money (there was none inside) until he could contact police.
