Georgia's jobless rate drops to 9 percent

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia labor officials say the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 9 percent in September, which is down from 9.2 percent in August.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced the figures early Thursday morning.

State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in a statement that the rate declined because Georgia had the fewest new claims for unemployment insurance benefits in five years, since before the start of the Great Recession.

Butler also said there are continuing signs of improvement in the state's manufacturing industry. The number of manufacturing jobs from August to September grew 1,900.

..... HOW CONVENIENT!! ..... Ha! ... C'mon now, what's the "real" rate? ... How many fell off the unemployment payroll? ... Many, to be sure .... This would certainly create a false number such as this .....

Did everybody hear that the New Unemployment filings last week were expected to be 366,000 and were actuall 385,000? This is why the National unemployment number LIE put out by Obama's people was 7.8%. NO POSSIBLE WAY that's true!! It's more likely 8.5% and if there were the same number of people looking for work when Obama was elected, the National unemployment rate would be almost 11%!! But Obama said it would be 5% by now!!??!!?? He'ls got NOT A CLUE what to do or how to do it.

"Many economists believe a reading below 400,000 points to an improving labor market." (from cnbc article) REALLY? In what world is 385,000 or 366,000 a good sign for the job market?
