ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany Police Department reported that Gloria Adamson, 63, of Albany, drove the green GMC Jimmy that crashed on Jefferson Street at Society Avenue just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Her passenger was Laura Faircloth, of Jacksonville FLa.
Adamson is in good condition and Faircloth is in serious condition, said a Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Thursday.
Adamson's air bag deployed, while there was no air bag on the SUV's passenger side, the report stated. The SUV was northbound on Jefferson when Adamson lost control and smashed into a utility pole. Adamson and Faircloth had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Albany Fire Department. Charges are pending, the report added.
