The homicide occurred at the intersection of Knollwood Drive and Creekside Drive.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office is treating the shooting as a death investigation and has turned it over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The victim, Robert Patton apparently suffered a gunshot to the chest and died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital main location.

Just a good man trying to help a woman who was being abused. Who was then shot and killed by the abuser. Prayers to the Patton family.

Too bad about the person who lost his life, but the SOB abuser will spend a long time in prison.

Awful times for the Patton's but they should be proud he was doing what was right. Whats also awful is we have to pay for this guy to sit in prison for a long time instead of doing whats right.. sentenced to death.
