DUBLIN — The Randolph Southern softball team settled for runner-up in the state for the second year in a row Saturday afternoon when the Class A Lady Patriots (19-6) were swept by Class AA Flint River, 6-5 and 17-2, in the state softball finals.
Randolph Southern finished second a year ago in the Class A tournament, then was forced to move up and play in Class AA this season when the GISA did away with its smallest classification in softball. Nonetheless, the Lady Pats made it back to the final series only to fsll short once again.
