Nixon was impeached for covering up the criminal act of burglarizing an office in the Watergate Complex not lying to the public. If presidents were impeached for lying we would never have a commander in chief.

if the squawker wanted to be correct they should have said that the president didn't call it terrorism (until 2 weeks later). Anything can be an act of terror (someone breaking into your house, a mugging, etc.), but those are not terrorism. there's a difference. Let's get it straight.....obumma didn't think it was terrorism until 2 weeks later. he thought it was a riot that got out of hand (which would be an act of terror to the people in the consulate). the problem is that a day after, the world knew it was terrorism. the administration just didn't want people knowing that al-queda was alive and well.....and we didn't protect our ambassador on the anniversary of 9/11

Would that we could impeach every last one of the lying individuals we call serving Politicians. There would be one heck of a lot of job openings in Politics. They are so used to telling each group what they want to hear, they themselves don't consider it lying, simply political posturing. I remember when Sanford told me personally, he would never support the Clinton Gun Ban, then he did. Expedience of the process was his reasoning. Haven't supported the lying individual since. Despite the NRA backing him I do all I can to oust him. Wasn't the only lie he has ever been caught in either.

Bill Clinton was not impeached, they just tried. He was not tried for lying per se. He was tried for perjury which is lying under oath about having sex with a woman in Ark. He was being sued for sexual harassment. It blossomed under the trial. Obama has told much bigger lies than Libya. If Mitt wins I do hope it comes out.

Bill Clinton was impeached but was not convicted. The House impeaches, the Senate convicts. He was not convicted hence not thrown out of office. An impeachment in the instance of presidential trials is tantamount to an indictment. The Senate held the trial while the house prosecuted. Boy was that the pot calling the kettle black.
In my first squawk I realized I had erred when the bible skooler said I made a good point. Nixon was not impeached. He resigned after Sen. Baker and others delivered the news his impeachment and convicted was a sure thing. That is when possibly the best president in the last half of the 19th century left in disgraced.

Paul Harvey said "they is the biggest liar in the world". For you younger folks, this guy was a radio news reporter,not a grocer. I generally reserve this saying for politicians and "ex" anythings. Usually fits well.

If O.B. should be impeached for lying he would never have gotten elected. Too late now to talk impeachment. He should never have been elected. All people could see or hear was not color but what they thought they were going to get free.

All those people of pallor voted for Obama to demonstrate that they were not racists and that Obama was so smart. Now we know Bush2 was smarter than Gore and Ketchup Man because we saw their college records. With Obama all we have is the media telling us how smart Obama is. The most frightening part is that there is no difference between Mittens and Obama. Mittens is a warmed over Mass. liberal who is to the left of Ted Kennedy, Mr. Chappaquiddick. Toss a coin, close your eyes and pick. There aint one nanobyte of difference between them. It don't matter. Vote Ron Paul, he's the only one that's different (BEST).

Lying is the American way when it comes to politics. It doesn't matter which of them becomes president because this ..country has been in a downward spiral since the 80's. So we can all look forward to the next president saying what they think the american people want to hear to get into office. So if ur not part of the 47% Romney spoke so highly of or your a obuuma lover we'll still be screwed.The country can't be fixed in 4yers

Well said, Greedygutt. The most sensible thing anyone has said so far and I fully agree. You are certainly right, it is going to take a lot more than 4 years and a lot of promises that these two clowns make and know they can't fulfill in 4 years, not even 8, to get us back on track.

Sister, the best answer is not enough. The multinational corporations own the politicians, parties and elections. We Americans really have to vote in our favor to ever change things. There are some movements afoot in the country that give me hope but the reality is we probably will have to go through an utter calamity fiscally to bring the majority around. So, I wait eagerly for your response.
