ALBANY -- Charles Milton Vanzant, 58, of Leesburg, GA, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Philema Road Baptist Church. Rev. Dan Harris and Rev. Johnny Farr will officiate. Interment will follow at the Leesburg Cemetery.
A native of Albany, Charles graduated from Westover High School in 1972. He attended Albany Technical School and Darton College and had resided in Leesburg, GA for the past twenty two years. Charles was employed with Lilliston Corporation for fifteen years and retired from Proctor and Gamble after twenty years. Charles was a member of the Southwest Georgia Sportsman Club and Philema Road Baptist Church, where he attended the Senior Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Vanzant and two sons, David Vanzant and Michael Vanzant all of Lee County, GA, his mother, Loucretia Vanzant and a brother, James Vanzant, both of Albany, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Smith Vanzant.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
