PELHAM -- Peggy Taylor Darby, 74, of Pelham, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Dr. Beau Cooksey will officiate the services. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Morrell, Charles White, Hayward Webb, Jimmy Thomas, Carroll Tinsley and Chip Harper. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Porter, Lamar Pollock, Sam Pollock, James Singleton, Doug Bass, Buddy Brinkley and Robert Murrah; and the Grace Bible Study Group of First Baptist Church of Pelham. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
Born on January 11, 1938 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Dallas Lee and Beulah Lee Gregory Taylor, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham. She was an administrative assistant for Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband, James L. "Jimmy" Darby of Pelham, Georgia, daughter Taria Dianne Darby Wingate and friend, Glenn Daniel, of Pelham, Georgia, grandson Joseph L. Wingate, IV of Pelham, Georgia, granddaughters Sara Wingate of Tallahassee, Florida, Cass Wingate Humphries of Kernersville, North Carolina, great grandchildren Aaliyah Humphries and Austin Humphries of Kernersville, North Carolina, sisters-in-law Wynona Taylor of Pelham, Georgia, Hazel Taylor of Hazelhurst, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dallas Lee and Beulah Lee Gregory Taylor, sister Katherine Taylor Thomas, brothers Carol L. "Buddy" Taylor, Wayne L. Taylor and Billy G. Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia.
