ALBANY -- John Dean Lyles, 54, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, October 21, 2012.

Mr. Lyles's remains were cremated and the family will have a celebration of life service on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the National Association of Letter Carriers, 1709 Oakridge Dr., Albany, GA 31707. The family requests casual dress for those attending the celebration of life service.

Mr. Lyles was born in Chicago, IL and graduated from Martin Luther King High School with the Class of 1976. He entered military service in the US Navy following his graduation, and he served for 20 years, retiring in 1997. Mr. Lyles moved to Albany in August of 1998. He was employed as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service until his death. Mr. Lyles enjoyed sports, especially watching the Chicago Bears. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lyles, and 2 sisters, Everlene Lyles and Della Lyles.

Mr. Lyles is survived by his wife: Ann Lyles, Albany; a daughter: Sonya Haveron, Albany; a son: David Lyles, Albany; a grandson: Austin Haveron, Albany; his mother: Gracie Lyles, Albany; a sister: Beverly Lyles, Chicago, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
