ALBANY -- Mr. Jon Dewey Ayres, 55, of Moscow, Russia died August 20, 2012 in Yalta, Ukraine.
A memorial service will be held today, Wednesday 2:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow after the service. Rev. Carrie Myers will officiate.
Born in Albany, Mr. Ayres attended Darton College and graduated from ABAC in Tifton before being employed by the Department of Natural Resources in Pine Mountain, GA and was a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Mr. Ayres had lived in Moscow, Russia since 2003 where he was an ESL (English as a second Language) School Teacher.
Survivors include his wife Victoria Ayres of Moscow, Russia; two sisters Lynn Ayres of Orlando, FL; Mary Ayres of Albany, GA; his mother Bettye McCraine of Albany, GA; a half sister Mitzi French and her husband Kevin of Panama City, FL; a step sister Elaine Taylor and her husband Tony of Albany, GA; a step brother Charles McCraine and his wife Shirley of Albany, GA.
