HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Weekly 'Prep Peek'

HERALD FAB 5 POLL --- WEEK 2:

1. Monroe (0-1)

The Nadas got ambushed in Brooks County and lost on a Hail Mary but stay at No. 1 because they’re still the top team in Southwest Georgia. Next: at Wilcox, 7:30 p.m. Friday.

2. Bainbridge (0-1)

The Bearcats lost their opener to Florida power East Gadsden, a state semifinalist last year, but stay No. 2 because they’ve yet to begin their Georgia schedule. Next: vs. Cairo, 7:30 p.m. Friday.

3. Lee County (1-0)

Kenneth Hurley ran for 200 yards, and Lee’s explosive offensive put up 42 first-half points in a 49-32 win against Dougherty. Next: vs. Albany 7:30 p.m. Friday.

4. Early County (1-0)

This looks like the best team at Early in years, and the Bobcats proved it with a 55-20 rout past Seminole to move up a spot in the poll. Next: at Miller County, 8 p.m. Friday.

5. Westover (1-0)

Westover replaces Americus-Sumter at No. 5 after the Patriots’ win against AAAAA Tift was more impressive than Americus’ win vs. AA Kendrick. Next: vs. Jonesboro, 7:30 p.m. Friday.
