Just to stir things up, and not being knowledgable in football politics, I will ask. Why is Big Daddy's still open? Many other clubs have had their license pulled for far less violance than has gone on at this place over the 33 years I have been here. Why aren't the Commisioners and Pastors after this place? Could it be because of contributions made to certain churches and causes?
chinaberry25 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Yeah, Walt and some could not even get opened because they were going be white owned. If I remember correctly it was the preachers behind it. Why not this black owned place? It is a disgrace to Albany, but kinds like bootleggers who use to give to the church and they overlook any wrongdoing.

As far as Bobo and Mark, they can both go. Head on back to FSU. Mark is way too overpaid to be at UGA. Lackluster at best. If he had been at Florida he would have been gone years ago. It is just that UGA does not play a tough schedule and they get beat by anyone who is tough. Mark should have been gone 3 years ago with or without Bobo.

Because Big Daddy's has a couple of commissioners in its back pocket. In regard to the squawk, ROLL TIDE!!

Squawker, I hope your conclusion wasn't drawn from the Buffalo game. As the MO player said, "UGA played old man football." It was probably intentional to some degree to avoid showing too much on film for this Sarrudee's matchup. Bobo is a heck of a good guy and if I had a son that played football I'd want hime to play for Bobo and Richt. But I think you're right he's got a long way to go before he'll be nominated to anybody's hall of fame for strategy. Go Dawgs!

Who cares???? Georgia has a weak schedule anyway. They "should" go to the SEC championship game and face ALABAMA or LSU.....and we know what will happen then....
VSU 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Yeah Corch, they may choke just like your ASU Rams do when they make the playoffs.
Sister_Ruby 8 months, 2 weeks ago
I heard from a reliable source that the SEC teams were afraid to schedule ASU.
VSU 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Sh*t ASU wouldn't even put VSU on their schedule.
bubbasmithredneck 8 months, 2 weeks ago
That might be Corch's team, but I went to FSU!!! (with Deion Sanders)....Go Seminoles!!!

Stupid Sports Squawk... didn't we have a squawkbox in the sports section at one time? Bring that back so space in the squawkbox isn't wasted on sports squawks.
TRUTH101 8 months, 2 weeks ago
I see this squak isn't negative enough for some....LOL...SMH

Georgia has the 2nd highest number of former players currently on NFL rosters. that tells me that we've had incredible talent over the past couple of years, but what do we have to show for it? An SEC title or two? We are big time underacheivers! I'm a Ga. fan, but if we don't make it to the Nat. Champ. game this year, with the schedule we have, it's time to move on from the current coaching staff. I like richt and think he's a fine human being, but he's not doing what he was hired to do......bring a championship back to Athens. And bobo should have been gone long ago, but it won't happen to dooley's boy! such a shame

I wouldnt say that UGA is underachieving. I would say UGA's achievements are right on par with the type of university UGA is, mediocre.
tywebb 8 months, 2 weeks ago
awwwww, did your private schooling not prepare you enough to get accepted into UGA? Have you looked at their requirements? It's a very tough school to get into. Don't get it confused with other SEC schools (except vandy and uf) whose only requirements are money and a heartbeat. And even if we were mediocre as a university, that has nothing to do with football expectations. If that were the case bama, awbum, sc, tenn, miss, miss. st, ark, kentucky, and lsu wouldn't have any expectations

Despite what their president (and alumni) might like to think, UF doesn't belong in the same sentence with Vandy.
UF is actually just a tick ahead of UGA as far as median SAT composite scores go...1160 vs. 1120. Vandy's is 1380.
It is more difficult to get into UF than UGA, but it is because they receive a gobzillion applications in a year, not because they're only taking the most brilliant of the brilliant.
Sherwood_Eagle_Alum 8 months, 2 weeks ago
UGA...hard to get in to... Ha ha ha, that was a good one. SEC schools are known for football and criminal activity. ACC schools are known for academics and basketball. I'll take academics any day of the week. Don't get me wrong, there are a few (Vandy and Florida) whose academic standards are on par with UNC or Duke, but most are very lacking.
I wasn't saying UGA as a school was mediocre. I was saying the football program is mediocre. Now that you mention it. The university is known more for partying than education, so I would say that it's pretty mediocre on that front also.
Sherwood_Eagle_Alum 8 months, 2 weeks ago
...and by "on par" I mean that they are in the ballpark.
FryarTuk 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Hr. Heatmiser your note is accurate. Dr. Adams has stepped up the academic profile quite abit at UGA. His goal of competing with UVA, UNC, and UF has been almost realized. UF just has tons of cabbage as does UVA and somewhat less is UNC but still a lot more than UGA. And then there is the GA politics. A big advantage of theother schools has been their medical and professional schools (engineer, etc.). UGA will have to play catch up. Adams leaves next year but hopefully the new Regents Chancellor will protect the school. As far as critiquing UGA even mediocre would be a major step forward for the bible school whence he came.

tywebb 8 months, 2 weeks ago
what the hell does this have to do with georgia football????? but to comment on it.....MOST repubs don't "hate" the president, they "hate" his policies AND his beliefs (jeremiah wright, obamacare, more people on food stamps, socialism, etc.). we just feel like he and his party are taking us down the wrong track! devils in angel suits.....that's a good one!!!! NOT
