A Maryland State Trooper is alive but will likely never be able to work as a peace officer again after being struck by a tractor trailer.
Dash cam footage captures the incident which occurred while the trooper was conducting a traffic stop on the shoulder of a highway. According to this report from CNN, the driver of the truck was cited for violating Maryland's "Move Over" law, which requires vehicles slow down or move into another lane when encountering police officers.
