AMERICUS, Ga. — The Dougherty County School System‘s Academy of Medical Arts team members are set to collaborate with Georgia Southwestern University’s School of Nursing.
DCSS Medical Arts team members attended the Georgia Southwestern University ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first phase of the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex last month.
Following the program and ribbon-cutting, team members enjoyed a guided tour of the new simulation hospital and met with the dean of the School of Nursing, Dr. Sandra Daniel, to discuss future plans for medical magnet students.
Through Georgia Southwestern’s facility, DSCC medical magnet students will have an opportunity to explore clinical expectations as they prepare for a rapidly changing health care system in a global environment.
Academy of Medical Arts team members in attendance included district coordinator Dr. Ufot Inyang, Traci Price and Annette Smith from Merry Acres Middle School and Vester Weaver from Westover High School.
