ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany State University begins its 2012-13 T. Marshall Jones Fine Arts and Lyceum Performance Series with an evening of harpsichord and piano music from the 1700s to the present, performed by ASU faculty member and accomplished keyboardist Mimi Noda.
According to Leroy E. Bynum Jr., dean of ASU's College of Arts and Humanities, Noda will appear at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the ASU ACAD auditorium. Her performance will be free to the public.
Continuing the concert year will be one of the premier men's vocal ensembles, Cantus, appearing in November. The group will also present a master-class over a two day residency, Bynum said.
In December, the ASU Concert Chorale and Chamber Singers Christmas Concert is scheduled to be performed at St. Teresa's Church, and in February internationally acclaimed concert pianist Awadagin Pratt presents a recital and a master class.
Completing the year's performances in April will be International Sphinx Competition Winner and ASU Distinguished Guest Lecturer, violinist Gareth Johnson.
