ALBANY, Ga. -- A thief stole an AK-47 rifle, 10 full ammunition magazines, a Black & Decker drill and a wallet with identification and credit cards from a 2006 Dodge Charger between midnight and 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to an Albany Police Department report.

The owner of the Charger, Michael G. Martin, said the car was locked when he left it on the 600 block of West Gordon Avenue, according to the report, which also noted there was no forced entry to the Charger or the trunk where the gun and ammunition were stored. The case remains under investigation.

Albany police responded to at least 48 incidents Monday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Burglaries on the 300 block of Saratoga Lane, the 400 block of Bush Street and the 500 block of Pinson Road;

-- Motor vehicle thefts on the 1400 block of West Highland Avenue and the 2300 block of Gillionville Road;

-- Thefts by taking on the 2700 block of Elton Street, the the 500 block of Moultrie Road, the 1900 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 2600 block of Lansing Drive, the 1200 block of West Highland Avenue, the 600 block of West Residence Avenue, the 800 block of South Slappey Boulevard, the 2600 block of Dawson Road and the 700 block of Mobile Avenue;

-- Entering auto on the 800 block of West Tift Avenue;

-- Sexual battery, no address given;

-- Disorderly conduct on the 400 block of South Carroll Avenue;

-- Financial transaction card fraud on the 2800 block of Palmyra Road;

-- Assaults (domestic) on the 600 block of West Whitney Avenue and the 500 block of 16th Avenue;

-- Battery on the 400 block of South Mock Road and the 300 block of Mercer Avenue;

-- Criminal trespass and two counts of battery (domestic) on the 1900 block of West Whitney Avenue;

-- Domestic calls (unfounded) on the 2400 block of Sylvester Road, the 1200 block of Baker Avenue and the 1600 block of West Third Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 12 calls Monday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Traffic arrest, unlicensed driver, on the 3000 block of Sylvester Road;

-- Theft on the 400 block of Westover Boulevard.

DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 44 calls on Monday, including 37 medical calls and seven trauma calls. Medical and trauma calls included, but were not limited to, five people fainted, four respiratory issues, four miscellaneous pain calls, 18 various medical calls, four falls and a vehicle crash victim.

ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to seven incidents Monday, including two smoke odors, a dog stuck under a car, a cardiac arrest, a vehicle backfire, a false alarm and an authorized burn.
