ALBANY -- Josephine K. Anderson, 71, of Albany, GA, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 901 South Westover Road with Dr. Daniel Simmons, Pastor and Apostle Napoleon Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.

She was born March 26, 1941 in Albany, GA, the daughter of the late Pinkie Keaton and Robert Rich. She was the oldest of three siblings.

Josephine married Bishop John S. Anderson, who survives her, August 12, 1978.

She graduated from Albany State with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing and worked as a Nursing Administrator, Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She also touched many lives in the community through Turner Job Corps, Wee Care Daycare Center, Jo's Southern Cooking and The Glorious Church of Jesus Christ, started in her home in 1991.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Bishop John S. Anderson of Albany, Georgia; two daughters Tresca (Anthony) Grannum of Round Rock, Texas, Tonyea (George) Monk of Columbus, Georgia; grand child Treskall Monk of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Dorothy Mathis and Velma Smith of Albany, Georgia.

Visitation for Mrs. Anderson will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 at Glorious Church of Jesus Christ, 2715 Sylvester Road, from 5-8 P.M.

The family will also receive friends at 2013 Waddell Avenue.
