The grass going in the street I agree with. But the twice a month will never fly. All winter the grass does not grow and the city of Albany does not exist to feed your OCD. There are more pressing things on their plates. If you want to live that way, move into the country and get over yourself.

Are you willing to cut the grass and clean yards FOR FREE for someone who is physically unable to tend their yards? Be careful about judging appearances of yards, especially if you do not know the circumstances of the family living in the home.

Things could be worse then a grass clippings and appearance. Code enforcement has way more important citations to write.

Like writing citations to all the folks who leave their garbage cans on the street instead of removing them? Code enforcement says that garbage cans are to be removed from the street by 7PM of the day of pick up. The city would make hundreds of thousands of dollars if this were enforced!

In many Cities there is a fine for blowing clippings in the street. It has far more to do with storm sewer blockage than appearances. The City has to use the suck truck to clean out the basins due to these clippings and leaves. In some Northern Cities you are required to clean the leaves out of the street in front of your home for just this problem. They do fine you as this old Redneck found out when doing my Cousins lawn in West Reading PA. They are quite serious, to the tune of $100.

I agree with the first part of this squawk. I have seen the yard crew that does Alltel blow the clippings in the street, which in turn goes down the drain system when it rains, which in turn causes street flooding. Of course this is NOT the only yard crew that does this but the owner of the property should be fined as well for not stopping this practice.

.... This "Squawk of the Day" is brought to you by your local communist chapter of young Putins ... and The Hitler Youth Club of Albany! ... Puhleez! ... I haven't seen such misguided anger since the Obama denied the Keystone pipeline .... get some priorities, will ya?! ...

In all probability, these houses are smoking cigarettes, eating junk food, talking on the cellphone, wearing fake nails, beautifully coiffeured, etc. Most likely a matter of priorities! lol

Have you become that accustomed to government oversight? Grass cutting citations? Seriously? MYOB.

I have centipeed in front but mostly St. Augustine out back due to shade. Depending on rainfall and time of year the growth rate for each varies. Does the proposed every 2 weeks apply even if one type og grass does not need cutting??
