ALBANY, Ga. — A Monday shooting at a 100 Wescott Lane duplex put a 37-year-old woman in the hospital and three people in custody, stated an Albany Police Department report.
According to police reports, Taneka Porter was shot in the left side by a 9mm-caliber handgun before 7:43 p.m. as she struggled with one or more of three suspects. Porter was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, which declined to release any information on her condition.
One man, Brandon Keaton, 23, and a woman, Chantay Ransom, 30, were arrested later at the Westwind Apartments on the 2400 block of Dawson Road, a report stated. The other man wanted in the case 22-year-old Contavious Harris, turned himself in, the report added.
The Dougherty County Jail automated phone system said that Keaton and Ransom face aggravated assault charges and had no bond set. Information on Harris was not available from the jail system or police spokeswoman Phyllis Banks because the investigation continues, she said.
Police put all the suspects in custody less than three hours Monday after they drove away from the shooting in a white Toyota Camry, Banks said. Additional charges are pending against the three, she added.

People just cannot settle an argument without using a gun. Why can't people just say what they want to say and let it slide instead of always shooting somebody they have a disagreement with.
