DECATUR, Ga. — Police say a security guard shot a robber who tried to hold up a metro Atlanta bank using a toy gun.
WXIA-TV reportsa man tried to rob a Citizens Trust bank in Decatur minutes after it opened Wednesday. A security guard shot the would-be robber in the knee.
DeKalb County police say it turns out the suspect's gun was a plastic toy. He was taken to a hospital after being shot. The FBI says it won't release the suspect's identity until federal charges are filed.
Police spokeswoman Lt. Pam Kunz says a bank employee's leg was grazed in the shooting after the security guard fired several rounds. The woman was treated and back at work within an hour.

Great job. At least this security guard is a better shot than APD. Too bad his aim wasn't higher.

Somehow I think it was more luck than skill involved in this shooting. Can't wait for the lawsuit, and his Company to hang him out to dry.

Yeah, he was better...he shot a bank employee; I wonder how many others in the bank he came close to hitting. I'll take a miss over accidentally shooting an innocent person any day!

wow, i actually laughed when I read the title of the story. That is just too funny. glad the employee is fine. I'll take a grazed innocent leg and a shot perp any day!

Hope it was shattered and has to walk with a limp forever. Whether he has a toy gun or not, it was used as a weapon. Shoot and ask questions later.

If you are Black in color (must be), can drive a police vehicle (car, truck, or a SUV), and know something about shooting at anything that moves from behind an air conditioner.

He used to be a robber, then he took a bullet to the knee.
