Three burglars run when police stop theft

ALBANY — Police interrupted a burglary at Woodpine Apartments and sent three men on the run before 1 a.m. Thursday, a Dougherty County Police Department official said.

Police Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick said, “When they ran, they left a lot of stolen goods behind scattered about and in their vehicle.”

The burglars ran into the woods behind the apartments along South Westover Boulevard, leaving behind a blue 1990 Ford Crown Victoria, Kirkpatrick said.

They abandoned electronics, a bow and arrows and three or four guns including a .45-caliber handgun, he confirmed.

The burglars could have been breaking into vehicles for a period of time before leaving the apartment, police reports stated.

Reports stated all the men were black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds.

Anyone with additional information should call county police at (229) 430-6600 or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers is an anonymous tipline. People with information could become eligible for cash rewards.

With what is left, they should find them now. Pray they do. People work hard for their money for thugs of any race to steal them

Notice when criminals run in Albany they always get away. All you have to do is look at most of the cops to see why. Set some standards in fitness, that will inprove the whole image of the department.
