Death of police dog in Warwick: Listening to explanations of how this poor dog died I cannot accept what is being said.
First, the dog “knew how to open the car door.” OK, why didn’t anyone check on the dog for days? Who was supposed to feed and water the dog and take care of it?
The officer went on vacation? Did the officer just leave that patrol car and equipment unlocked?
I hope the citizens of Warwick keep on this thing. Somebody has punishment coming. What I believe really happened is the dog was put into the patrol car and forgotten about.
Now, the city want’s another dog. Who will be responsible for a new dog’s welfare? After this, who can be trusted?

It is really interesting to note the Police vehicle was unsecured with all that equipment in it. Tends to make one wonder. As to a trained Police dog left without supervision, that is an accident looking to happen. Remember the one in North Georgia that let itself out of the Police car and attacked an individual? Isn't the going price for a certified dog somewhere in the twenty to thirty thousand range?
