ALBANY -- James Layfield, 63, of Albany died Friday, September 21,2012 at Phoebe Putney Hospital.

Graveside services with military honors were held Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery and visitation followed. Rev. Bill Suggs was the officiate.

A native of Albany, James had worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber and Jamison Bedding.

He also served in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam. James was a member of Southside Baptist Church and will always be remembered for the love he gave to his family and friends.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Mac Layfield(Carol) of Sylvester, sisters, Lawana

Moore(Jerry) and Emily Long, cousin, Alice Walsh(Rick) all of Leesburg, aunt and uncle,

Jessie Marvin and Hazel Layfield of Albany, two nieces, three nephews and four great nephews and longtime friend and caregiver, Robert Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest(Buddy) and Ruby Dorch Layfield.
