BLAKELY -- Mr. Billy Wilson, 82, died at his home Tuesday night, September 25, 2012. His funeral will be held Friday morning, Sept. 28, 2012 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Colquitt City Cemetery with Dr. James W. Hilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6 until 8 PM. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Shiver, Pat McCrackin, Tommy Odom, Rod Allums, Ray Peterson, Darrell Jordan and honorary pallbearers will be Andy Givens, Lane Wilson, Billy Willson, II, Randall English, Hudson Givens and Jacob English.
Mr. Wilson was born August 13, 1930 in Colquitt, Ga. to the late John Lane Wilson and Bessie Mae Arnett Wilson. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Cedar Springs, Ga., a retired farmer and a retired mechanic with over 30 years of work at the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Max Wilson and by a sister, Geraldine Wilson Owens.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Mae Jordan Wilson and three sons: George Lane Wilson, Sr. and wife Barbara, William Eugene Wilson and wife Karen and Billy Joe Wilson and wife Beverly all of Blakely, Ga. He has 5 grandchildren: Andrea W. Givens and husband Andy of Colquitt, Ga., Tabaitha W. English and husband Randall, Amanda Jill Wilson, George Lane Wilson, Jr. and wife Casey and Billy Calvin Wilson, II all of Blakely, Ga. There are also 7 great grandchildren:Hudson and Landon Givens of Colquitt, Ga., Hannah, Jacob and Madison English all of Blakely and Mason and Carson Wilson also of Blakely, Ga.
