ALBANY -- Mr. Otis Clarence Brown, 69, of Albany, Georgia, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. J.H. Reynolds, officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, GA.
Mr. Brown was born January 11, 1943 in Dawson, GA. He was educated in the Terrell County School System. For a number of years he worked and lived in Albany, GA before moving to Newark, NJ. After retiring from a successful career wiih Schering Plough Pharmaceutical in 2005, Albany, GA again became his home. Mr. Brown was an active, dedicated member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Mrs Shirley Alexander Brown; three sons, Karlow M- Brown. Warr Acres, OK, Carlton Hancock, Fairfield, NJ, and Tyne Hancock, Newark, NJ; one daughter, Clara Lavanna Brown, Albany; five stepchildren, Gregory (Darlene) Wimberly, Las Vegas, NV, Stephanie Wimberly, Conyers, Synthia Kennebtew, Litha Spring, GA, Shirley Quarterman, Charlotte, NC, and Carolyn Quarterman, Albany; a beloved father, Charlie Brown, Jr., Albany; eight brothers; five sisters; ten grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a multitude of family members that includes nieces, nephews, close friends, and other relatives.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Clara Frances Clark Brown; one sister, Charlie Ruth Brown; and one brother. Charlie Gene Brown.
