SAVANNAH, Ga. - The mayor of Savannah has asked City Manager Rochelle Small-Toney to resign.
The Savannah Morning News reports that Mayor Edna Jackson asked for the city manager’s resignation on Tuesday, and told city council members of the request on Wednesday.
The city council plans to take up the issue during an Oct. 4 meeting. Officials say one hour will be allowed for public comments, with this comments limited to three minutes per person.
Some council members have questioned whether the city’s budget situation for 2013 is more severe than they have been told.
Small-Toney has not said whether she will step down.
