ALBANY — Junior League planners are excited about their first Boot Shoot & Boogie event, designed to raise money for their 2012 signature projects, the Lily Pad and the Children’s Miracle Network.
On Oct. 20, guests will have an opportunity to shoot sporting clay at Wynfield Plantation.
According to sources, two time slots are available for the shooters: noon and 3 p.m.
Later in the evening, dinner will be at Austin’s Firegrill with music by Highway 55, a local group.
Various prizes will be awarded throughout the day, including a half-day quail hunt for four.
“We’re really excited about this fundraiser,” said Callie Walker, co-chair for the event. “It’s definitely a different kind of event for the Junior League and we feel it couldn’t be more appropriate for south Georgia in the fall.”
According to Allison Daniel, also a co-chair, about half of the 80 available spots for shooters have already been reserved, with an “outpouring” of donations by individuals and corporate sponsors.
The cost for shooting clays is $100 per individual or $350 for a group of four.
Both prices include dinner and dancing. To attend the dinner alone is $50 per person.
