NEWTON — The Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center at Ichauway will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 20.
Founded in 1991 on Ichauway’s 29,000 acres, the Jones Center’s mission is to understand, to demonstrate and to promote excellence in natural resource management and conservation.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the research, conservation and education programs firsthand, as well as to tour the Ichauway property.
This free event includes hands-on children’s activities, walking tours of working research facilities, wagon tours of Ichauway’s landscape and historical area, and more. Participants should bring a picnic lunch; drinks and tables will be provided.
The Jones Center is located on Georgia Highway 91, approximately 10 miles south of Newton and 15 miles north of Colquitt.
