Westside Grocery robbed

ALBANY, Ga. — Police are searching for two men they believe robbed an Albany curb store late Monday night.

Albany Police Department Spokesperson Phyllis Banks says that two men reportedly robbed the Westside Grocery at 2314 West Gordon Avenue around 11:30 Monday evening.

Banks says that two unknown black men were involved in the robbery. One went inside, jumped the counter and demanded money. The other stood at the door as a lookout. Both men then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction and remain at large.

Anyone with information on this or any other crime can call Crimestoppers Anonymously at 436-TIPS.

A store open in that part of town at that hour is a time bomb for a robbery. No surprise here.

If the communities do not get involved, the thugs will take over all of Albany. Somebody somewhere knows who did this and they are just as guilty by not speaking up. Next time it could be your mother or grandmother they rob. Call 436-TIPS it maybe your family member you save next time.
