BLAKELY -- Mr. Emory C. Durham, 86, of 5808 Second Kolomoki Rd., Bluffton, Ga. 39824, died Thursday morning, April 4, 2013 at the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely. His funeral will be held Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at 11 AM at the Colomokee Baptist Church in Blakely with Rev. T. J. Bennett and Rev. Fred Odom officiating. The family will receive friends in the social hall from 10 AM up until funeral time at 11 AM. Pallbearers will be Keith Durham, LaDon Durham, R. J. Durham, Larry Enfinger, Ashley Barron, Jim Durham and Jon Durham, Jr.
Mr. Durham was born June 29, 1926 in Early County to the late Ephie L. Durham and Lonnie Jenkins Durham. He was a member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a retired farmer, former County Commissioner of Early County and a former Commander of the American Legion Post 11. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Faye Durham, a son, Ray Durham, a brother, Thomas Durham and by 2 sisters, Ovida D. Sosbe and Helen Mitchell.
His survivors include his wife: Saralyn Scarborough Durham of Bluffton, Ga., a daughter, Patsy D. Bennett of Dallas, Ga., 2 sons, Dr. Kenneth Durham and his wife Amy and Terry Durham and his wife Alice- all of Albany, Ga. He has a brother, J. W. (Buddy) Durham and his wife Shirley of Bluffton, Ga. There are 9 grandchildren: Ashley Barron and Jill of Marietta, Ga., Kiley Castricone and David of New York, NY, Holly French and Mike of Seneca, SC, Blakely Durham of Birmingham, Al., John K. Durham, Jr. of Albany, Ga., Lindsey Durham of Boston, Ga., Kelsey Durham and Jim Durham of Albany, Ga. and Krystal Cox and Allen of Ft. Gaines, Ga. There are also 5 great grandchildren.
