I would like to write a few words in response to Mr. Lee Raines’ letter to the editor (“Marriage equality in Georgia matters to me,” In My View, April 5). I agree with Mr. Raines that he has every right to choose whatever lifestyle he prefers. God’s word says to “choose you this day whosoever you will serve” (Joshua 14:15). God’s word also says, “Come now let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18). So, let’s reason together a little bit.
During the week of creation, God created man and woman (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7 and 2:21-23). God created a man and a woman and gave them a special privilege and that was to be faithful and multiply and to replenish the Earth (Genesis 1:28). That is to have children and become a family with a mama and a daddy. You and your so-called husband can’t do that.
If God had created two men or two women, none of us would be here. Think about that. God knew what he was doing. He doesn’t need any of us to think that we can do better. If you will read Romans 1:24-27 and Leviticus 18:22, you will see it’s not only wrong, but it’s an abomination.
I hope anyone in this kind of a lifestyle will think on these things. Everything that God has instituted, the devil, or Satan, has offered a counterfeit. Such as marriage and the family, counterfeited was the first day of the week for the seventh day (Genesis 2:23). We never die. We die but we still live (Genesis 3:4), plus many more.
