There will be meetings for parents of students whose attendance zone has been affected by the school closures. The schedule of meetings is outlined below.
School officials say parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting scheduled at their child’s new school for an opportunity to meet the leadership and staff and make new connections for learning. During the scheduled meetings, parents will receive information about enrollment and the transfer of student records.
Administrators will be on hand to answer questions about the changes. Parents who use bus transportation will also have an opportunity to sign up for next school year.
Interim Superintendent Butch Mosely said in a recent letter to parents of re-zoned students: “It is my hope that this transition will lead to new levels of system effectiveness and student achievement in our school system. Our board and staff have a vested interest in the success of your student.
“Your commitment to your new school, its leadership and teachers, is an important part of your child’s academic success next year. I hope to meet you at the parent meeting and look forward to working with you to make our schools all they should be for your student.”
