Confederate memorial services planned

ALBANY, Ga. — In observation of Confederate History Month in Georgia, several memorials services are planned in Southwest Georgia, said James W. King, commander of the Albany Sons of Confederate Veterans camp.

King said the the Calhoun Rifles Camp event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Coleman Cemetery in Randolph County near Carnegie. The Yancey Independents Camp will begin their services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Worth County Courthouse in Sylvester and the event in Moultrie will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Confederate monument at the Moultrie courthouse.

The Alexander H. Stephens SVC Camp at Americus will conduct its annual service at 5 p.m. on April 27 at the Old City Cemetery, King said.
