Publix, employees make United Way donation

ALBANY, Ga. — Publix Super Markets Inc. and its employees in metro Albany have donated more than $65,000 to United Way of Southwest Georgia.

The company presented a check for $28,400 Wednesday at the Lee County Publix location. On hand for the presentation were district manager Keith Gilbert along with local store managers Garrett Tukes at Leesburg and Duane Ranew at Albany.

In addition to the corporate donation, Publix employees have pledged an additional $36,755 toward the most recent United Way campaign. United Way of Southwest Georgia serves 13 area counties.
